Science 6 is “Backyard Science” because it can be done in your own backyard. This course is hands-on and practical. It is designed to spark curiosity and initiative. Students learn practical skills that can be used.

I would have done more tinkering during my school years.

Advice to Parents

During the school year, encourage your students to do as much writing, speaking and tinkering as possible. In the summer give them a break yet still have them learn in a different way such as going to a fun summer camp.

Advice to Students

Don’t shy away from tougher books. Read biographies and autobiographies of great people who interest you.

Daniel Dignan is a science and robotics instructor for the Ron Paul Curriculum. His courses challenge students with hands-on, practical projects. His goal is to help students learn to create.

Daniel teaches 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science courses and is adding 4th and 5th grade science in August 2015.
